Now that I’ve found some of these old demos I remember why I recorded them. Sometimes it takes an accident to remember the little things.
I was writing a bunch of songs to record with my dear pal Dan Nicklin at his studio in Boston. I thought it would be a good idea to go out to the garage and sing them into my iPhone to share them with him. But before we could arrange doing the record I got caught up in something else (a documentary in France) and had to put it on the back burner. Then, after the film, covid hit. So, I decided to make a record myself in my own studio “The Spider Cave.”
Most of the songs I recorded ended up as part of my records IV or From Lucky Point to Père Lachaise, and My Favorite Los Angeles Restaurant. This particular song ended up on the latter.
Brick Briscoe & The Skinny made a live concert film of My Favorite Los Angeles Restaurant as covid ended, but before we could do club shows. Here’s a video of The Party Line from Historic Thrall’s Opera House in New Harmony, Indiana, featuring Allen Clark III on drums, Cory Folz on bass, and Zach Evans on Guitar/Keys.
Let me know what you think…. download and share how you see fit. New stuff coming from various labels.
