The Song Show on Painkillers

The shingles absolutely suck
1

Listen to The Song Show and songs I was listening to on legal drugs.

So, I’ve been missing. Several days in the hospital that were preceded by a dull pain that was creeping up for a few months. Then, the pain exploded and I was hospitalized. Fearing the worst, and the best, I was put through many tests, but nothing of import showed up. No cancer relapse, no ulcers, or whatever.

My oncologist came to the hospital to check on me, she knew I was worried about NH Lymphoma rearing its ugly head again. She did the usual feels (as did every other specialist), but she found a bit of a swelling on one of my ribs on the left flank… “shingles?” I heard her question under her breath. But there was really no breakout or anything… so after many more tests, I was sent home.

Once home I sat down on the couch and felt needles on my side. Like someone had cut hair on the couch and it was sticking out into my back. My wife, took a look and sure enough, a rash. Not more than six hours after I got home from the hospital!

Now the pain I had felt in the ER seemed to make sense. And almost four weeks later, the pain is still here. And, let me tell ya, you don’t want the shingles. I wouldn’t wish it on anyone. ANYONE!!!

So get the damn vaccine. Thank me later.

I never take painkillers. Even during my several year bout with Cancer. They gave me plenty. We always flushed them after the fact. This time I did. Narcotics, as we all know, do strange things to your dreams and waking hours. It made me want to listen to some music that would take me on a trip, of almost any kind. Kind of like we all did as kids, listening to Pink Floyd or Hawkweed in the dark, while our parents wondered what the hell was going on in there.

Well, at my house, it was this music. xoxoxo
