So, I’m probably at the hospital in the middle of a procedure that will allow me to travel and work confidently. Meaning, hopefully no passing out because my heart jumps to over 230 bpm, as a lot of you witnessed on 9/11/2021 when the Skinny played our release show on a roof in Evansville.
Someday I’ll be able to watch the video from 9/11/2021, maybe it will end up in the film.
After 11 days in hospital, they figured out what was causing it (and discovered Leukemia to boot!) and put me on medicines that worked. Well, they worked for four years, and then POOF!! they didn’t. So they are going in to rewire the electrical system of my heart (I hear a song in there).
Physically, this has been a shitty year. Shingles and a few other things that were insane health issues in my household kept me from doing the Paris, Indiana Tour.
But, assuming this procedure works, I’m going to do it… a year late, but dammit!! Here we go. I’m feeling pretty strong, so let’s get busy doing solo/duo/etc shows wherever the wind blows me.
We will be playing a show on January 10 in Louisville, KY to celebrate the release of my Any Road/The Song Show whiskey. We’ll be playing at Whiskey Thief in NULU at the same place I saw Bill Frisell a month or so ago. I hope you can make it. More details later in the week.
Finally, the song is a near finished version of “Maggie Might”. It’s a song about relationships that got me through Lymphoma. I’m finally dealing with that in a realistic way. My optimistic nature can play cat and mouse with me some times.
This song reunites me with Remi Foucard (violin) and Squeeze Me I Squeak, both from “Me and My Shadow” from “Paris, Indiana”. Also featured is LA based Eric Lee on Bass and the pride of Phoenix, Arizona, Rick Obenshain on Drums. I hope you enjoy where this is going!
