There’s a lot of weird things out there if you are a musician/songwriter/anything.
One of the things that always surprises me is when one of my songs is “Shazam-ed”. I don’t use that product, but I understand why folks might.
One of my trucks in particular is searched that way often. It’s above (take it please) and is a track I've never played live or promoted and was recorded in the first decade of this century.
For some reason there are lots of folks in Mexico and South American countries that are hearing this somewhere. I think that’s super cool, but I’ve never really tried to go into those markets (I’d love to!).
I remember the day it was recorded. It was a typical day in the original Pillbox just off Main Street in Petersburg. I recorded some SFX near a playground and went from there, gathering guitar and other instruments to score a dream I’d had recently about my grandfather Lester ( photo below).
So, if you are in a public space in Mexico or anywhere, let me know if you hear the song!! ;).
I think it’s pretty cool and mysterious that folks are hearing it somewhere.
